You can meet people online you might not have run into “in real life”…and then decide if you want to meet in person or not.

I have friends who are in long term relationships, and married, to people they originally met on the internet.

it is better because if there is no pictures then its just personality that attracts them together, could be better but some people need to see the other person and need phisical attraction

it works if u are looking for it. although be careful there are alot of weirdos freaks u name it on the net. make sure ur friend does alot of getting to know on the net before anything phone or otherwise is exchanged

I know people that have met partners through on line dating. I guess it just opens up a new way of meeting people that you ordinarily might not come across on a day to day basis.

I think its totally pot luck as to whether you meet someone that you’re compatible with or not, but I wouldnt see any harm in him trying it!

    xx

well it’s kinda funny but I kinda met my boyfriend on myspace. yup. he is a great guy and we are moving in together now. I think that as long as there are no suprises. as far as looks, personality, and anything else people hold important in a relationship, then it is just as if u met in person.

Internet sites are great for meeting people. Don’t try to date online though. A lot of people do and that just doesnt’ work. Think of it as an introductory service. Good luck.

i think Internet dating is more effective for people who are just looking to have short relationships. however a recent study showed that people are becoming far more desperate in the attempt to find ‘the one’ that more and more people sign on to Internet dating sites for those purposes. it might be harder for him to find ‘those’ sort of people who are willing to find marriage.

There are a lot of slugs or leeches lurking on the Internet. It is better to try to date someone you know something about instead of going after a pig in a poke.

Sure, online dating opens up more options for dating. The good thing about online dating is that at least you know that they are looking for the same thing, rather than a random girl/guy on the street. You’ll have more of a selection of people who are looking to date too, not to mention allot of different people too. I’d say give it a try, you never know who you might meet.

I personally use online dating along side with meeting people through friends and friends of friends, people at pubs and bars. I’ve been single since Jan and have date about 3 to 4 times a month since then.

you shouldnt be looking for love online. that being said, i found a friend i talked to in a chat room a few times, next thing you know we met, then we moved in, now we are getting married. Take it slow

It apparently works, there are success stories and these are used as examples. However paedophiles use the internet as a major hub so I am unsure as to whether it works, reluctant to make a sweeping statement as to say yes or not, I would say tread carefully and be wise and think wisely whether you can engage in a relationship where you are, however if push comes to shove do try it but involve your family in this relationship, at least mention this person you are talking to.

I wouldnt reccomend it, as people could lie about their age and things they like
