Yes, there is a secret. Isn’t there always?

The problem is that secrets are always so much cooler before you know what the secret actually is. Once you know it, it just doesn’t seem to be nearly as amazing as you expected it to be. It’s a bummer, I know.

Still, there is a secret to online dating. In fact, there are many. But this is the biggest and most important one. Getting excited? Have you already scrolled down to learn this incredible, life-changing secret? Yeah, I do the same thing. And though I’m generally disappointed by what is revealed to me, more often then not, the secret revealed is actually pretty damned useful if I’m willing to put it to use.

And there you go … that is the big secret … Put what you learn into action!! I think Dan Kennedy, the renowned marketer said, “Nothing happens until something moves.” Well that certainly applies here.

NOTHING happens until you DO SOMETHING!! So go do something, damn it. Do one damned thing. Do it now. Do it before you read another sentence here.

OK, you didn’t do anything, right? Yeah, I understand. It’s harder than it sounds. All those crazy thoughts going around in your head:

• “What should I do?”
• “What if I do the wrong thing?”
• “What if something bad happens when I do something?”
• “Why bother? It’s never worked in the past.”
• <Fill in your particular reason for not doing something here>

I struggle with the same crap all the time. Our minds can be our worst enemies when it comes to changing our lives for the better. But we have to fight that enemy and move forward anyway.

So, how to fight the enemy?

Well, here’s one way. Just do something – ANYTHING – related to your online dating success.

What should you do?

Well, if you’re just getting started, I would say start writing down ideas for your profile. That’s a great place to begin. Just jot down ideas in two categories:

• How you want women to see you
• What you want in a woman (or women)

Start there. Just jot down those ideas as they come to you. Hell, keep a little notebook in your pocket and when an idea comes to you, write it.

Pretty soon you’ll have a bunch of great material on which to base your online dating profile. And I’ll be here to help you with that part too.
